when he finally goes into a deep dream state, he is still protected against predators with his amazing "false eyes," a camouflage adaptation that makes it seem like he is always watching. squint your eyes and look... can you see?

I did this for my old friend Peter VanKleef when I was bartending in that wild and bizarre watering hole. I gave him the drawing for a t-shirt he wanted to make. I chose about .3 percent of things littered about the bar to incorporate into the design...it's an impressive collection. He ended up telling me that the lettering was too "hippie". So another benevolent act scrapped and fallen through sticky floorboards, coated with years of booze, blood, sweat and beers.

my good friend caleb was having an art auction for lobot gallery a while back and i gave him this. sometimes it's hard to see a drawing go so quickly after it is made; without even getting a chance to reflect on what you experienced by making it. i think i had this for a day before it disappeared. it's part of these "shrine" drawings i was doing about people's special collections of things. if you have a special collection of objects that you want to share, please send me a message about it at mullerite@gmail.com. i'll do a drawing about them maybe.
